Benefits of tai chi chuan(太極拳)/chi kung (気功)exercises
The benefits of regular practice of tai chi chuan and chi kung are limitless thanks to its gentle yet effective movement which cultivates our vital energy. For example, it results in improved health and fitness, stress and emotional relief, personal development, boosted confidence and can be used for self-defence. Unlike some other martial arts, tai chi is suitable for all ages.
Typical class
A typical class consists of a short chi kung (standing meditation), warm-up exercises to flex the joints, and Yang style tai chi forms. Classes end with a short breathing meditation focusing to settle and store the energy developed in the process.
